About Sarah

mother, maker, moon watcher

I believe that birth is transformative and that how we are born matters. I worked as a doula before enrolling in a local midwifery program. This program introduced me to basic midwifery skills and practices. After completing that program I enrolled in a more comprehensive midwifery program with the National Midwifery Institute. While enrolled with NMI I was blessed to find a local midwife to guide me through a three and half year apprenticeship. Through the combination of hands on learning, being with pregnant people, working alongside skilled midwives I deepened my understanding of birth. The lessons of midwifery continue for me as I complete my didactic work and assist local midwives. In addition to my love of midwifery I have a significant appreciation for healing with plants. I am currently enrolled in Aviva Romm"s Herbal Medicine for Women. I believe that there is much to benefit from by adding herbal allies to our life.

I am blessed to be the mama to two beautiful, free children. We can often be found dancing. I enjoy creating things with my hands, knitting, reading, hiking, and eating. Life is good.
